قال رابح سعدان إنه كاد لا يقود فريق الجزائر للمونديال لأنه كان يضيق ذرعا بما يدور حوله، وبسبب "طعنات" تلقاها بالظهر. وخرجت الجزائر من الدور الأول لكن سعدان اعتبر مشاركتها إيجابية وقال إن الفريق كان أفضل فريق أفريقي بالدورة بعد غانا.
