تأهل العربي وقطر رسميا إلى المربع الذهبي وبالتالي خوض مسابقة كأس ولي عهد قطر، بفوز الأول على الوكرة 3-2 والثاني على الخريطيات 2-صفر في المرحلة الـ22 الأخيرة من الدوري القطري لكرة القدم. وفشل الريان في التأهل رغم فوزه على الشمال.
