وجه خالد بن لادن نجل زعيم تنظيم القاعدة أسامة بن لادن رسالة لمرشد الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية يطالبه بالإفراج عن أسرة بن لادن المعتقلة بإيران. وكشف خالد في رسالة على أحد مواقع الإنترنت أن شقيقته وشقيقه تمكنا الهروب من السجون الإيرانية.
