أقر الأفغاني الأصل نجيب الله زازي المتهم بالتخطيط لشن هجوم في نيويورك بأنه مذنب وأنه كان يخطط لتفجير نظام الأنفاق بالمدينة. وقال وزير العدل الأميركي إريك هولدر عن المحاولة إنها كانت من أخطر التهديدات الإرهابية على بلاده منذ هجمات سبتمبر/أيلول.
