قال الدبلوماسي البريطاني أوليفر مايلز إن حركة المقاومة الإسلامية "حماس" تعد شريكا ضروريا وأساسيا في أي عملية سلام في المنطقة، وأضاف في مقال له بصحيفة ذي غارديان البريطانية أن المفاوضات على الطاولة كفيلة بإذابة الجليد، وحذر تل أبيب من تبخر حل الدولتين.
