انتشرت وحدات من الشرطة في الأحياء التي تسيطر عليها الحكومة الصومالية، وذلك لمنع وقوع العمليات التفجيرية التي تستهدف مسؤولي الحكومة الانتقالية. من جهة أخرى توصلت الحكومة الصومالية وجماعة أهل السنة والجماعة لاتفاق مبدئي في محادثات سرية بدأت منذ أسبوعين بأديس أبابا.
